upstate

I'm a sucker for a deep rich indigo color.  And if it's coupled with great shibori, I get even weaker in the knees.  The lovely ladies at Upstate hand dye each and every one of their gorgeous pieces.  And they do more than just stunning oversized silk shawls.

So much more...

Head over to their shop to see the rest of their stock.  It's so beautiful.  I wish I could have some of their work in my home.  I also kind of secretly wish I was them.  While still being me, of course.  If that makes any sense.

ps - my own take on shibori with bleach, not nearly even in the same league as their work, but for a first try, not so bad, right?

  1. Stunning and gorgeous.

And your original post on your tie dye experiment kept me enthralled. I have to say - it looks pretty good to me. I should throw you over a few of my tees and see what you can do with them.

    1. Thanks Sue! I had a blast doing it, and even though I expected something completely different, I was pretty pleased with the results. I would love to play more with dying (and bleaching) textiles, but I get so lazy about organizing and cleaning up and everything. Maybe this summer I'll have some more free time to try again!
