bolo because, yolo

Yup.  That's a bolo tie.  Granted, I'm easing my way into this, tucking the leather strings (ties?) inside my sweatshirt.  But still, wearing this thing made me feel like a brave cowgirl.  In fact, every time I looked in the mirror I got this song in my head.  Wild west, the 80s, and Bon Jovi, all in one little accessory so neatly tucked into my otherwise unassuming outfit.  What's not to love?

Here's the details...

This particular one was lovingly selected by mom for her own personal use approximately 30 years ago, but there are still plenty of bolo ties out there, available for purchase.  Did you know it's the official state neckwear for Arizona, New Mexico and Texas?  Did you even know there was such a thing as official state neckwear?  Oh the things you will learn with me...

Check out these options for adding a little western touch to your day to day:

Do you bolo?  Would you?

  1. Wowwww I love that idea. I have a few of my grandpa's bolo ties, I should start wearing them like this.
    Love your hair too.

    1. Thanks! Absolutely you should bust out those old bolo ties, and even better that they actually belonged to your grandfather! My hair actually just became cotton candy pink yesterday, so stay tuned for an update...
