anna lewis

'Cathexis' is an installation by jewelry designer/multimedia artist Anna Lewis.  She hung over 3000 embellished wooden birds to swarm around the gallery.  The result is overwhelming and breathtaking.

more after the jump...

I love the way the shadows double the number of birds.  And not to trivialize her work, but wouldn't you love to do this in your home?  Maybe just in one corner?

Also makes me want to go see the migration of the monarchs one day.  And yes, I'm free-associating.
