no. 6

Been a while since we've talked about clogs.  Wouldn't want the clogs of the world to feel neglected, so to show them a little love, here are some that I lusted after at No. 6 in nyc.

Blankets, boots and clogs all in one? Yes, please.  These are seriously lust-worthy.  The leather is pretty stiff, but I was told they soften quickly, and everything in the store was so beautifully made and such high quality that I absolutely believe them.

Love the shorter ones in rust, and my god, shearling?! Who wouldn't want that?

In the store these funny flirty peep-toes came in amazing vibrant colors, from turquoise to mustard.  They're not up online yet, but they said that they take requests, if there's something specific you want, or a modification of any kind, you can just shoot them an email and they'll make yours to order.  Clog heaven.

blouses to blush about

Learned a new term today: pussy-bow.  Seriously?  It has me blushing and giggling like a little schoolgirl.  I realize it's totally immature of me but I can't help it.  Did everyone else know that's what it was called?

You can actually even search for pussy-bow over at net-a-porter and you get lots of results, including this beautiful Chloe shirt.  I think I might just have to go buy myself a pussy-bow blouse now.   Not only are they everywhere and looking very attractive (some of them), but it gives you an excuse to say pussy-bow over and over again.

Maybe one day I'll grow up and be a bit more mature about these things.

jacket lust

It's 91 degrees outside, and I am drooling over a shearling jacket.  It makes no sense.

Even if it were fall here it would still make no sense; at $1,665 this is a jacket that will not be on my body any time soon.  But still.  I dream and sigh.  Isabel Marant is messing with my head.

Is that the coziest tough jacket you've ever seen or what?

june bum park

When I saw artist June Bum Park's Finger Parking in the Otherworldly exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Design, I thought maybe he'd done it all in post-production, superimposing his hands over the footage of a busy street.  It turns out he does it all in camera!  Filmed from a rooftop, it's just a question of optics and perspective that allows his giant hands to manipulate the tiny world below.  Simple, but so smart.

See another of his short films after the jump...

zara picks for fall

It's still 95 degrees here in Madrid, which seems weird to me, and kind of annoying actually because I'm ready for fall.  And snakeskin print blouses.  And white silk shirts with metal collar tips (a la Balenciaga spring 2011, which, by the way, there's an amazing DIY tutorial for over at Honestly WTF).

a few more coats 'n things by Zara that are calling out to me after the jump...

metallica

I'm craving a little sparkle in my life today.  Glitz with a slight contradictory edge.  Maybe an elegant but shrunken blazer?

Or some tough yet glitzy combat boots?

dirty laundry preview boot from endless, (also at dsw for even less!)

Or a cozy sweater with a more glamorous side?

sleep deprivation

I'm back home!  Well, back in one of my homes.  The nomadic part of my life seems to be kicking in in full force this year.  In any case, it feels great to be back in my apartment with my husband.  The only problem is that I am so sleepy it hurts.  The ugly jetlag monster has me in its jaws..  So all I want to do right now is curl up on the couch with husband, eat some good food, and maybe play a video game or two to stay awake.  Would be nice to curl up in this, wouldn't it?

And wear it all winter long as if it's totally normal to walk around with a blanket slung over your shoulders?  And dye your hair deep rich red again?  Just saying...
