blazer perfection

I feel like I've been looking for the perfect black blazer for half my life.  I also have been a huge fan of The Kooples for years.  Recently the stars aligned, everything came together in a serendipitous shopping moment, and I purchased not only my first Kooples piece, but also the most perfect black blazer ever created by man.

It's wool, so it hardly creases or wrinkles at all, and is so beautifully tailored I just had to share all the little details with you.  It fits like a dream, and best of all it has this gorgeous royal blue lining to show off when you roll up the sleeves.

More great pieces from The Kooples...

You might also be familiar with their ad campaigns which ingeniously feature cool and beautiful couples dressed impeccably.  (Talk about inspirational/aspirational advertising, who doesn't want to be one of the Kooples Couples?!)  If you haven't already seen it, head over and browse through the couples, it really is a great concept.

  1. I might just have to pop in to the Kooples again to have another look but I can't bring myself to buy without trying on first and I don't like the fact that they don't have mirrors in their changing rooms. You have to walk out to use a large communal mirror - the very thought makes me shudder to think that everyone can criticise me at the point when I'm feeling most vulnerable i.e. pants probably too tight and too long, jacket too big, skirts not fastening properly etc. Now if they had mirrors in their changing rooms, I would have had something from them by now.

Your new blazer looks lovely - love the buttons on the cuff detailing. You will get a lot of wear and enjoyment from that.

    1. Oohh, I hate when there's no private mirrors! I didn't have to deal with that as I was in a department store, but there's plenty of stores here in Spain that are set up that way. The worst being a bathing suit store. Really?! I have to come out of the dressing room in a *bathing suit*?! Nightmarish. Am totally enjoying the blazer by the way, just keeps on thrilling me!

    1. Thanks for understanding the level of joy involved. Yes, my heart does sing a bit when I wear it.

  3. We don't have it in Canada :(

I picked up a white tuxedo blazer while in France last summer. Really liking the gray flannel moto jacket above.

    1. They should get their butts over there. I really think they do some extraordinary basic pieces.

  4. AHhh I'm dying to visit a Kooples store. I also am on a quest to acquire the perfect black blazer. I thought I had found it at All Saints but no. I think Filippa K also makes great basics.
I still think women's blazers should have inner breast pockets like mens. We have important documents too!!!

    1. You would think a basic black tailored blazer would be easier to find, but I feel you, it took me years to find this one. Nice idea about the inside pocket. Don't know that I would keep my important documents there, but I would certainly get a kick out of having the option!
