sisii

I recently discovered Sisii, a japanese label that makes leather outerwear.  Washed leather.  Washable leather.  Yup, you heard right.  Washable leather.  I have seen these in person and I have to say the effect of the leather treatment is amazing.  They look like aged, worn-in canvas, they drape like heavy fabric, but they feel buttery soft like only good leather can.  Truly amazing.  This fishtail parka over at Totokaelo is available in all these scrumptious colors.

Can you believe this down-filled coat is leather?  Course, this one's not washable, but only because of the filling.  I think these coats are mind-boggling in their simultaneous simplicity and innovation.  And if I had $2000 to invest I'd do it in a heartbeat.  I bet that parka would accompany you through the rest of your adult life.  Like a good friend.  Who doesn't need a good friend?  Here's some stills in case my fancy gif is making you nervous:

  1. I have been looking through your blog. I love that you have a taste for "curious" things. The editorial from a few days ago, colored pigeons, fingered sweaters. There is a store in Los Angeles called Gold Bug that I think you will like! It's a hidden gem and I wrote about it on my website, Via Los Angeles:

    1. Thanks! It does look like the kind of store I could get lost in. If ever I find myself in LA I will do my best to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!

  2. Looks amazing. When I'm in Seattle, I always go to Totokaelo and drool like a mad woman.
