iris & ink

Oh hi perfect basics from Iris & Ink, so nice to see you!  Don't know why I've never paid you much mind before.  I suppose it's because you're only available through The Outnet, and god knows how distracting that place is.

More from Outnet's in-house capsule collection...

I'm very attracted to their cashmere: lightweight crewnecks and v-necks, draped cardigans, and a few pieces with interesting details like colorblocked sleeves or contoured seaming.

The silks look good too, What's more, the prices are totally not outrageous.  Not as amazing as Everlane prices, but still, fairly feasible.

They're also playing quite a bit with leather, with the occasional dash of lace and wool.

Truth be told, there's nothing in the collection that blows me away, but I think that's beside the point.  These are the meant to be the pieces that create a foundation for your wardrobe, a base for you to build on, and I could easily see some of these items becoming staples.  I'd be so curious to see it all in person; have any of you tried Iris & Ink?  What are your thoughts?

  1. I've been browsing the Outnet too. It's a little addictive. I've not bought any of the Iris & Ink and in truth I'd not heard of them before I went on the Outnet but like you say, they look like they have good wardrobe foundation type clothes but that's not a bad thing. Aubin & Wills were (note how I use the past tense) like that and Everlane (which I can't buy from) but I like nice simple stuff so it's all good with me. And if there's affordable cashmere involved - that's even better.

  2. i like the silk shirts from Iris and Ink, but for the pricepoint, I want basics with more unique colors or new details. For a plain silk shirt, if I want white, I'll go to Everlane.

    1. I totally agree with you. If it's a basic color that's available at Everlane I wouldn't even think twice, but if you're in the market for a bright blue or a pop of orange or something slightly different, it is a good option.
