getting my stripes

Who doesn't love a great striped t-shirt?  Finding the perfect one though, is not always an easy task, even among the millions of options out there right now.  I have a 3/4 sleeve linen t-shirt from Zara that I absolutely love, but since it's loose and slightly sheer with very thin stripes, it never satisfied my yen for a traditional striped tee.   Then I saw this one at Cos and I knew it was the one.

The details...

With a fit that's slightly shrunken but still casual and easy, perfectly proportioned stripes and sleeves, and the detail of the ribbing around the neckline, this, for me, is the ultimate classic striped t-shirt.

Do you stripe?  Do you own more than one?  Come on, fess up.

  1. I do stripe, and I do own more than one! I struggle to find The One though, there's something off about them all. Too slouchy, too fitted, too sheer.. One day I will get it right (and buy at least three)!

    1. Yup, super hard to find. I'm really happy with this one though, just waiting for things to warm up a bit so it's not totally covered with a wool sweater!

    1. Stripe on stripe, sounds like something I could totally get behind. So nice to meet another displaced wisconsinite! I haven't lived there for over 18 years, but I sure do love going home for a visit. (Always will be home, won't it?) We're actually contemplating moving to nyc this fall/winter, it's a big move!

  3. I actually have a stupid amount of stripy tops and jumpers. And I'm looking forward to getting them all out again now that spring/summer is imminent. They just look so perfect in the warmer weather. And even with probably more than 20 items of stripy clothing in my wardrobe - it doesn't stop me looking for the next one. I never see one stripey top as being better than the next one - they all serve different purposes and are bought to be worn in different ways. I believe that because there is so much variety out there, it continues to fuel my love for them. I am still missing a red one ....

I like the one you've picked - you'll have fun wearing that in the summer. It would look great with a denim dirndl skirt and some Swedish Hasbeens.

  4. I love the nautical striped shirts from St James. They are made of thick cotton and great quality. Highly recommended.

    1. I know they're the classic, but they're actually a little too thick for my taste. Go figure! Thanks for the suggestion though! And by the way, I just found you guys via Tomboy Style, LOVE the concept. Plus, having lived in SF for years before Madrid, even just the style names tickled me! Next time I'm stateside I'm going to have to check you guys out.

Thanks for the support. We really appreciate it.
We really enjoyed naming our first line after local places. So glad it resonates with residents and ex-residents like you. We actually live on Jones St, too.
