big day

image from what katie ate

I see no reason not to shout this from the highest mountain tops: It's my birthday tomorrow!

I have no big plans, I think this year I will be snuggled up with Husband eating all sorts of decadent things and watching movies or something of the sort.  But sometimes quiet cozy celebrations are the best kind.

I do have a few birthday wishes, but like one does with all the best ones, I'm going to keep them to myself so that they come true.  If and when they do, I will let you know.

In the meantime, dear reader, go and eat a piece of cake on my behalf.  The more the merrier!

  1. That cake looks amazing! Cozied up, chowing down on treats and watching movies sounds like the most perfect day of all. I hope you had a brilliant birthday.

  2. oh, i wish you a very happy and snuggled up birthday!
(i have to do it now because i won't be close to my computer tomorrow.)
i usually spend my birthday in the zoo with one or both of my favourite people (boyfriend and sister) because in belgrade you get two free passes for the zoo if it's you birthday (except this year it was snowing in march, first time in ten years!).
    enjoy your day <3

    1. Thank you!! Free passes to the zoo?! That sounds pretty amazing. I think if they did that here I would do it every year too. I love a good zoo!

  3. I hope all your secret birthday wishes come true and if they do, will you share?

I personally don't like a lot of pomp and circumstance for my birthday so your day of just hanging out and watching movies sounds great to me. Just make sure you get to choose the movie ok?

    Happy birthday Defne.

  7. Aaaagh I am so embarrassingly far behind on my blog reading - happy belated birthday Defne!! Your birthday celebration sounds perfect, I usually do the same thing. Dinner, then movies and junky desserts at home :)

Also, that cake. Goodness gracious, that cake!!

    1. Being behind on blog reading is usually a good thing, means you're doing all sorts of fabulous things outside your usual routine, right? :) I'm behind on my blog-writing lately, so we're pretty even.

Sadly I did not have that cake. But I think I owe it to myself. Maybe this month I will bake something totally wild and decadent....
