colorful sky rats

You may have already seen these but I couldn't resist reposting (originally found here).  Artists Julian Charriere and Julius von Bismarck (humanely) spray painted pigeons at the 2012 Venice Biennale in an effort to essentially rebrand the much maligned birds' image.

How lovely are they?  Definitely much more than rats with wings, these birds are absolutely gorgeous.  See more portraits, plus the winged beauties in action, after the jump...

  1. Hi there!

I saw your comment on Joanna Goddard's post about apartment hunting in Brooklyn. My boyfriend and I just moved here a month ago and I can reassure you that you don't need to be a millionaire to make a happy life!

    1. Ha! Thanks, that is so sweet of you to stop by and leave a comment! I know it's possible, really I do, it's just a little bit overwhelming and intimidating. Thanks for the encouragement!
