denim day

One of my great accomplishments when I was in Madison was buying new jeans.  You laugh?  Huge accomplishment, I swear.  I imagine that there is a body type for which it is extremely easy to find jeans that fit, but mine is not one of them, nor, I'm guessing, are most women's.  Lucky for me, Madison, WI is home to amazing shopping.  Oh, you didn't know that?  Did you know that Shopbop is based in my hometown?  And that we have a local in-store Bop?  Jealous yet?

More after the jump...

The super helpful ladies at Bop knew just which jeans to grab for my curves and I, and after trying only 7 pairs, I walked out with two.  Impressive success rate, no?

I picked up one of my absolute all-time favorites, the J Brand Bombshell Cigarette Leg.  It was the perfect curvy jean, the one all other brands should have looked to as a pillar of excellence, and yet, it looks like they've discontinued it.  Why, J Brand, why?  No one has curves anymore?  Harumph.  Lucky for me, Bop still had some in stock.

Also lucky for me, the woman who was helping me pulled some Fidelity Denim, which I had never tried before.  One word for you: heaven.  They're much lighter weight than the J Brands, so they were perfect for cooler summer evenings and will be my go-to pair come fall.  I highly recommend the Fidelity Rev.  Can't say enough about them.

And then, since I was on a roll, I crossed to the other side of State St. and picked up the fabulous 1969 Real Straight jeans from Gap.  Promptly came home and cropped them into capris and have been enjoying them thoroughly.  They won't last long, but at least I know they fit well and the price makes me more willing to have at them with my scissors.

So happy with my new jeans.  Even happier that I won't need to shop for jeans again in the near future.  How about you?  Have you found a perfect pair of jeans yet?  Do you dread the hunt as much as I usually do?

  1. Oh my gosh. I have my favourite jeans -they're called 'the skinny' and are by 7 for all Mankind. They've got a little hole forming between the legs though and I'm devastated. They don't make the same wash that I currently have and i'm super sad that my favourite pair are barely hanging on.

You hit the jeans jackpot! Three pairs in one day. That is incredible. xx

    1. That is the worst, when they're barely hanging on and you know there's no replacement and so you start rationing it out, like, is today worth wearing my favorite jeans? I know the feeling. And changing washes sometimes completely changes the way they fit too... so frustrating. I feel your pain.
