hasbeens frenzy

Here's my confession: Even though I'm a very good (read: compulsive) shopper and researcher, I crack under pressure.  I'm the kind of gal who finds something absolutely perfect,  searches online to see if I can find a better and/or cheaper version, and then goes back to visit it in the store three times to see if I still feel the love.  I do not like to be rushed.  So sites like Gilt and MyHabit really really stress me out.  Even more so when they have something I really really want.

Case in point: these Swedish Hasbeens lace-up boots I've been coveting for literally years now.  Crazy ridiculously surreally reduced at MyHabit.  But, do I want them in black or do I want them in nude?  And while we're at it, it seems like the higher heeled version is also deeply discounted, maybe I want those instead?

Cue panic.  Cue frenzied googling.  Cue paralysis.  Cue my shopping nightmare, where the clock is ticking down like an episode of 24 and everything you want is on the line but if you make the wrong decision the world will explode.  Or something like that.  (More likely all you out there who are not afflicted will go and snatch up the last pairs before I actually decide.)

So?  What's a girl to do?  What would you do?  Any of you out there own these lace-up boots?  Which heel height did you go with?  Are they comfortable?  Advice please!  And quick!

ps - these cute clog loafers are also on sale, in case this wasn't already difficult enough.

  1. Hello! I just wanted to say that I've been following your blog for a few weeks now hoping that there's something I can comment on.

The boots are really cool, and I really like the nude ones with the shorter heel. I don't have those particular boots, but I've worn shoes with heels like that before, and they are comfortable. (And this is coming from someone who went to a small college campus and did a lot of walking around.)

Regardless, let us know which pair you end up buying!

    1. Those are the ones I'm leaning towards myself. I walk everywhere as well so comfort and walkability are major concerns. Glad you spoke up!

  2. I LOVE boots, that's why I love this season so much. Though, I'm always wearing classic Dr Martens black boots.

  4. Swedish Hasbeens are a tad narrower and less malleable than NO.6/Sven Clogs if that's any help!

    1. That's actually super helpful. In that it makes me doubt getting them at all. I think what I have to do is search out a store here in Madrid that carries them and see how they actually feel. I've been stalking No.6 clogs and boots for ages as well, but sadly those are not so drastically on sale. Thanks for stopping by and helping!

  5. I JUST got the same nude boots w. the lower heel. I adore them ... esp. with all black. Great everyday boot.

    1. Also, I paid $119 free shipping new in box on ebay, but I have freakishly small feet (US 6)

    2. You lucky girl you! I actually started toying with the idea of the combat boots, with the little buckle across the ankle, tried them on in real life and fell in love. But then the sensible part of my brain took over and said to me "you have too many pairs of boots", and I cowed my head in shame and have been trying not to think of them ever since.
