fuzzy wuzzy

I have always been anti-extraneous-fuzz in my clothing.  Mohair and angora items made me sneeze just at the thought of all those flyaway fibers getting near my nose, not to mention in my mouth.  But the other day, at Cos, I was overcome by a sense of adventure and bravery (possibly brought on by having my favorite shopping companion at my side - a rare treat!) and wrapped myself in this angora cardigan.

It was pretty much love at first touch...

I'm as shocked as anyone, but I love this like no other sweater in my closet right now.  The color, the feel, the boxy cut, it is all unlike anything I have ever owned, and it is all perfection.

I find myself wishing I could just wear it every day so I can just stay wrapped in this coziest of garment hugs forever.   Plus, as a bonus, you get more hugs from others when you are so fuzzily clad.

    1. Why thank you! The stack is my engagement and wedding rings, and the large one is a beauty my grandmother made. I'm very attached to it, for various reasons.

  2. Ahhh. You went over to the fuzzy size! Not so bad is it? That colour is stunning and I applaud you for going for the teal colourway over the black - it's so easy to go for a default which you think will go with everything but somehow the colour makes it so much more. Now do you find you are spend all your time stroking yourself? Purrrrrr. Reminds me so much of the H&M one which got away .....

    1. I thought of you, in fact, and how I had just recently told you how adamantly anti-fuzz I was. Time to eat my words. (Along with a few flyaway fibers.) And you know what, I honestly had zero attraction to the black, it didn't even register on my radar as something worth looking at, as soon as I saw the teal I fell in love with it. And yes, it's true, I can't keep my hands off myself. Sooo soft!!!

  3. Your description about how you feel about fuzzy jumpers is exactly the same as mine. The mere thought of all those fluffy fibers getting in my nose makes me feel all uncomfortable. I've got to say though I love the look of this one. I'm so impressed to hear you've gotten over your phobia of fluff! Maybe I should give it another try too.

p.s. the colour of the knit next to your hair is so beautiful in that first photo! xx

    1. Thank you! And I have to say my (our) fear of rogue flying fibers seems to be pretty unwarranted. I've been wearing this quite a bit lately (ok, ok, nonstop), and so far not a single piece of fluff has gone up my nose! Give it a try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

  4. i tend to avoid them too, mostly because i'm so bad at taking care of fuzzy things though someone recently gave me a baby alpaca scarf that's a wee bit fuzzy and it's really has grown on me

    1. Do fuzzy things need special taking-care-of? I guess I'm going to find out soon. Let me know if you have tips or anything. And yes, I'm in love with the color myself, just makes me so happy! Yay to happiness brought my clothing!

  6. your sweater is so gorgeous - what a color and i love the texture! i tried on an angora sweater at zara not long ago. loved the shape and color, but the shedding from the angora was just terrible. i have a feeling COS does a better quality knit when it comes to tricky fibers like angora...

    1. Thank you! Interesting about the Zara sweater. This one really sheds so little, I was surprised. In fact it made me question all my presumptions about how angora behaves. But maybe it just comes down to quality. Once again we learn to invest in good pieces that will last (and not shed crazy hairs all over the place!) ;)

  7. What a great find! I'm also into boxy cardigans, now, too, been wearing the burgundy Muji cardigan almost nonstop and it just works with everything. Love the color of the mohair sweater and the way you stack your rings are amazing, very beautiful.

    1. Thanks! This is actually the only boxy cardigan I have and I find I'm limited to what I can wear it with, has to be skinny bottoms otherwise I feel a bit oversized all around. But I do love it! My stacked rings are actually my engagement ring over my wedding ring; they never leave that finger!

  9. I got mine in the mail last week. Lovely, darker teal than in your photos, and a bit too large for me (I shouldn't have ordered size M). My husband said I looked like a muppet. But I love it--so soft and so richly colored. Only now I feel too sad to wear it because of this: http://www.vogue.co.uk/blogs/the-green-style-blog/2013/h-and-m-angora-products

  10. I think I'm going to try to return mine. Cos is offering full refunds. I love it, but I can't bear to think about all those mistreated little bunnies (as a former bunny owner myself). http://about.hm.com/en/news/newsroom/news.html/en/hm-stops-the-production-of-all-angora-products.html

    1. Oh I know! Of course, when I bought the sweater I had no idea, all I thought was: fuzzy! I am, of course, crushed. No returning it now for me though. I will not buy angora again, obviously, but the damage is already done with this one. I'll just have to try not to think about PJ or Minuit when I wear it...

Was it easy to buy and return the Cos things from the US?
