jack

I'm back from London, super excited about everything I learned in Blogshop (my brains's still smoking a little bit from all the new information!).  I will tell you all about it and more, I promise, but not until next week.  Right now my cup runneth over with the styling and monster-making for Jack.

We shoot this weekend, and I honestly don't think I'll be able to post again until after we're done, but come monday I will let you know how it went!

i'm in!

It's official!  I'm going to Blogshop in London in just two weeks!

I mentioned these ladies and their exciting workshops back in september, and now lucky for me they're holding classes nearby!  Check out my earlier post or the Blogshop website for cute videos of previous workshops; it just looks like so much fun (apart from being highly educational, of course).  I almost didn't get in, but at the last minute there was a cancellation and even though I'm super busy right now I'm being impulsive and just saying YES.

Just look at the beauty of Curtain Studios, where we'll be having class:

So excited.  Time to start making travel arrangements!  Anyone have suggestions for affordable yet wonderful hotels in London?  Extra points if it's in the Shoreditch area...

a question for you

 VS.

Just a quickie bonus post today that's really more for me than for you.  I'm trying to decide on which short course to do next, and both London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins are offering the same course (intro to fashion design), on the same exact dates, and for more or less the same price.  I was ecstatic about my last LCF experience (though I realize now I never did go into it in detail here, how negligent of me!  Let me know if any of you are curious to hear more about it), but wonder if in this period of exploration I should branch out even more and try out the famous St. Martins.  Anyone out there done short courses at either institution or have any words of advice?  Thanks readers, I'd love to hear from you!

london town

Guess where I'm going tomorrow!

Tomorrow I leave at the crack of dawn, (before the crow eats its sh#^, as my dad used to say), and I have a few days to bum around before my short course at LCF.  I have no idea what to expect, but am literally beside myself with excitement.  I'm sort of trying to manage my expectations for this class, but I can't help but be giddy with anticipation.  I'll try and keep posting from there even if it's just quick updates, but if I can't manage it, know that I'll be back in just 1 week.  Now I have to go deal with the real question: what do I pack?!

continuing education

Well, some of you may have noticed that I'm not in London taking a ton of short courses at the London College of Fashion like I said I would be.  One of them got cancelled and I just couldn't justify going over there if it wasn't going to be a full-blown intensive immersion-type situation.  Probably for the best, the whole thing was pretty insane and rushed.  I will still be doing a 3-day course there in October, so stay tuned for more on that, but for now, I'm settling in to life at home in Madrid, and keeping my eye out for other enriching sources of education.  This workshop recently caught my eye here.

How fun does that look?  Learning photoshop in a course geared specifically towards bloggers, with tons of goodie bags and ridiculously good food?  With classes held in San Francisco, LA, New York, Boston, Paris and Berlin, it shouldn't be too hard to find myself near one of them eventually.

Watch another cute Blogshop video after the jump...
