allison hunter
Found Allison Hunter's work via paper weight. I'll admit, I have a weakness for llamas in general, but these guys are not just cute, they're somehow mysterious as well. I'm blown away by what I think is the power of creative photoshopping. Right? Is that how she turns regular zoo animals into magical creatures in far away magical lands? However it is she's doing it, the effect is weird and beautiful and eerie and slightly confusing. In a good way.

the kooples picks
Today I'm pretending I live in France and have endless amounts of money to throw around, so I can buy anything I want from this amazing boutique. I found the perfect motorcycle jacket and the perfect white blazer, both of which I've been looking for for a while (see here and here). And check out these gorgeous two-toned nude wedges:

wait there's more...

peleg design
Saw this computer jewelry at this wonderful little store near my house, and had to run home and check out other products by Peleg Design. So many funny little toys to choose from! Look at this magical wine bottle holder:

wrap me up
Currently coveting:
Cashmere travel wrap from White+Warren. 100% cashmere, hand washable, 15 different color choices, and at 81"x 36" it really is a blanket and a shawl and a scarf and a dress and anything else you want it to be. Which it damn well better be at $275. Still, I want one. Or two. Or three.

Found this amazing store for men, and am thinking maybe we ladies should raid it. How gorgeous is this bag?

shaun tan

This weekend we went to the Reina Sofia. I was hoping to see the Miroslaw Balka exhibit, but it turns out it was in Burgos, so that was a little disappointing. Of course we enjoyed the museum anyways, as we always do. And then as a bonus, in the gift shop we discovered this wonderful book:

Some of you may be familiar with Shaun Tan's Tales from Outer Suburbia, which was one of the NY Times Best Illustrated Children's Books of 2009. I always check that list for christmas presents, and remember that book, but I hadn't seen any of his other work. Now I'm a huge fan. Children's books? Don't be fooled, these are for all of us.

balenciaga cut outs
Hello funny shoe boot cut out thing. I think you're pretty cool.
You look cute with fun socks, and even cuter showing a little skin underneath. Either way. If I had $1275 to spare, maybe I'd think about adopting you.

For now I'll just admire you from afar. Thanks for being so different.
my paper bag
Happy belated earth day! Here's an ecologically sound find for you:
I discovered this leather 'paper' bag on Love Aesthetics, I love the way she even rolls it down or folds it over and rocks it like a clutch. My Paper Bag is produced by the Fair Trade Certified Crafts Resource Center in Calcutta and is a Cradle 2 Cradle product, which means at any point you can return it and get 10% off any another product from the site.
