one, two, buckle my shoe

Some might call me boot obsessed, but that's ok, I can deal with that.  Meet my newest addition to the family.  I had mixed feelings about being suckered into such blatent knock-off-land, but then I realized that these holey shoes and boots have simply become a new part of the global sartorial vocabulary.  Yes, Balenciaga, you did them first.  But you did such a good job that everyone wanted a piece of it, and now we all (kind of) can.  I'm beyond excited about the pair that I snagged. I think they're perfectly balanced: just the right amount of tough and streamlined with the perfect little lift at the heel.

More on my holey boots...

Sadly (for you, if you love them as much as I do) these seem to have disappeared from the internet.  I did find them in store at Zara though, so you might still be able to snap up a pair.  I can't wait for the weather to cool down (just a few degrees, these guys are self-ventilating!) so I can wear them out into the world.  And imagine the fun I'm going to have with socks!  It's like a whole new world is opening up before me...

  1. I am just too short to wear boots like this. I look like all boots and no legs. But I like your idea of wearing them with socks - that really is a whole new world coming in to play. So this is the first purchase for some time - enjoy!

    1. I don't believe that for a minute Sue! I'll admit that one me, with shorter pants and bare legs, they are not the most flattering, especially at the point where shaft meets calf. But with that little area camouflaged a bit to sort of elongate the whole leg, I think anyone could wear them!
