postcards from the edge

More from Vancouver!  How pretty is this city?   (And how excited was I to see Canada geese in Canada?  Disproportionately so, I'd say.)
A huge oak tree planted on top of a condo building, a joyous decked out bicycle, and two giddy tourists (yup, that's us), this city charmed us completely.  See more of my favorite Vancouver moments and recommendations after the jump...

ink

On Granville Island (Vancouver) we popped into a dual purpose First Nations gallery/tourist trap shop that had some irresistible souvenirs.  We snapped up a few temporary tattoos, which of course we had to apply right away.

I don't have any permanent ink but I find myself constantly pinning lovely tattoos and I have to say, having this sweet bird on my wrist makes me feel pretty darned good.  Not saying I'm going to do it, but I am saying that I may just get hooked on temporary tattoos to scratch that itch.  This of course led me on a great big hunt, and I found some real beauties.

herschel

I'm back from my trip to Vancouver and I have to say the city is truly stunningly beautiful.  I'm organizing my thoughts (and the few photos I managed to take) for more posts next week, but wanted to start sharing with you some of my big discoveries.  Like local backpack company Herschel Supply Co. Brand.  I've seen their goods online and always been intrigued, but in person you can see how really special they are.  Built super solid and sturdy, they are also ridiculously comfortable on, and beautifully designed.

Usually when a lookbook is this tastefully done it tells you something about the brand ethos, and Herschel is no exception.  Way to make a utilitarian backpack sexy and totally covetable!

vancouver

Husband and I are getting out of foggy San Francisco for a few days and heading to bluer skies in Vancouver.  I've never been to Canada, and am beyond excited about seeing what might be one of the most beautiful cities ever.  (No offense, Istanbul, I still love you)
