da bomb

What the what? This insanely intricate, decadent, shiny and gorgeous bomber from Zara stopped me in my tracks.  Practical?  Possibly not.  But I seem to care less and less about that lately.  It also reminds me of a black and hot pink satin bomber I had when I was a kid, embroidered with sunglass-wearing cherubs and the word "Angelinos".  Yeah, I was that kind of a kid.

It also got me thinking about bombers in general, the new incarnations we're seeing (again, obviously), and then when I saw  this neoprene one from T by Alexander Wang I was convinced this issue needed further investigation.
Most folks online are showing it mini and shrunken, which is very cute, but I'm more inclined to wear it like the lovely Ivania does, oversized and cozy, like a big neoprene hug.  (If you're not familiar with her blog check it out, she is a brave minimalist if ever there was one.)

uo t

Seems like I'm always going on and on about the perfect t-shirts.  But not only is it one of the most important staples in my closet, it's also the kind of thing where you want to have options.  Like, if I'm feeling flush, I'll splurge on T by A Wang.  If I'm near COS, I'll stock up there.  But if I'm in the states and I want to spend less than $25?  Urban Outfitters to the rescue.  And let me tell you, this is a perfect t-shirt.

The pinky nude is my favorite, but I'm thinking I may need to get some of the other colors too.   They drape perfectly and are buttery suede soft.  One piece of advice though: size down.  Way down.

Do you have a secret source for perfect T's?

carin wester

I'm not sure what Urban Outfitters is doing selling stuff in this price range, but I'm so happy to have stumbled onto the work of Swedish designer Carin WesterThis adjustable backless dress makes wings out of your own skin, and its billowing shapelessness combined with the sexy cut-outs intrigued me so much I had to investigate further.

She's got sweet 60's coats and flowy chiffon dresses, along with beautiful tailored separates and slouchy comfy jersey pieces.  She's pretty much go it all covered.  These are from her own website, but it looks like she's got a few collaborations going with both Urban Outfitters and Asos.  Lucky us.

what i'm wearing - pink happiness

You may remember these pants, and no, I still haven't had them hemmed, but am wearing them all the time anyway, rolled up like I'm on my way to dig for clams. The bright color makes me so happy!   I think between these and my fuchsia lipstick, I may be a bit obsessed with pink right now.  Or just with color in general.  Or maybe just with being happy.

what i'm wearing - tiny flowers

I said this the other day, and I'll say it again, summer's actually here!  Temperatures are steady hovering around 80 degrees now (that's about 27 celsius, which I know because I looked it up.  Six and a half years here and I still think in farenheit.)  Time to celebrate with airy tank tops and clog sandals.  By the way, for those of you who advised me to keep these clogs, thank you!  I absolutely love them and they are ridiculously comfortable.

what i'm wearing

This is my first outfit post since I started seriously investing myself in this blog, and to be honest I'm a little nervous.  Funny how that happens.  It's not like I get  nervous when I go outside and people see what I'm wearing, but posting a photo here makes me feel a bit naked.  I do want to keep this blog personal and real though, and I love the idea of occasionally posting what I'm wearing.   What do you think?

Feeling better day by day.  But this damn sore throat won't go away.  And now another way to torture you, it seems that rhyming I must do, it's another symptom of the jersey flu!  Oh what, oh what's a girl to do?  (sorry, I literally can't help myself!)  Well, the doc is coming by in an hour or so so hopefully he can rid me of this madness.  Meanwhile, like any good sick girl, I'm shopping on line.   First store plundered (in my mind): Urban Outfitters.

I think this would be just perfect with my thai fisherman's pants (every time I write that I feel like I stole the pants off my thai fisherman.  You know what I mean though), or even with a black tee or tank underneath.  Fresh, summery, cute and sexy, without being slutty.  (right?  or do I still have Jersey Fever?)
